Aruba is one of the most temperate islands in the
Caribbean.
It’s always "sunny and warm." Average daytime
temperature is 82° Fahrenheit (27° Celsius), with
cooling trade winds and less than 20 inches of rain
a year.
Drinking Water in Aruba
The Island’s tap water is distilled in the world's
second largest saltwater desalination plant.
Aruba’s drinking water has been dubbed ‘the
champagne of the
Caribbean’, and is even bottled and shipped to nearby
Curacao.
Electricity
Aruba has the same voltage standard of 110 A.C. (60
cycles), as in the United States and Canada.
Currency
Aruba's currency is the florin. U.S.
Dollars are widely accepted in
Aruba, and banks may exchange other foreign
currency.
Traveler's/Personal Checks
Traveler's checks are widely accepted in hotels and
stores. Personal checks are normally not accepted;
however, major credit cards can be used at
most establishments.
Public Buses...ARUBUS!
You can travel from downtown Oranjestad across from
the waterfront shops and restaurants to anywhere
along the hotel stretch. Tourists are discovering
that this is an inexpensive and efficient way to get
around between the hotel/beach area and downtown.
